Pizza Van Avonhead

Skip the cooking on a Friday. Rolling Dough is a wood fired pizza trailer based in Christchurch, and Avonhead is one of our regular Friday spots.

We keep it simple and do it properly. Flour, water, salt and time. The dough gets 24 hours at room temperature before it is stretched by hand and topped with San Marzano tomatoes and fresh fior di latte mozzarella.

Each pizza takes about 90 seconds in the oven, so even on a busy night the queue keeps moving. The menu is short and seasonal, and there is always a vegetarian option.

Find us on Avonhead Road, just past the Burnside Rugby Club entrance, Fridays from 5pm to 8.30pm, starting Friday 16 October.
