Pizza Catering

We bring the pizza to you. Rolling Dough is a wood fired pizza trailer based in Christchurch, and we cater private events right across Canterbury. Weddings, birthdays, work dos, parties. If you have got people to feed, we turn up, set up, and cook proper Neapolitan pizza on the spot.

This is not your average event pizza. Our dough ferments for 24 hours before it is stretched by hand. We use San Marzano tomatoes and 00 flour brought in from Italy, and fresh fior di latte mozzarella. Each pizza cooks in about 90 seconds in a screaming hot oven, so it lands light, blistered and hot.

How it works

You pick a short menu, usually three pizzas, normally two meat and one veggie. On the day we set up, fire the oven, and cook to order.

Most people go for the buffet. We cook and slice, lay it all out, and guests help themselves. The food keeps coming and everyone eats together. If you would rather a whole pizza each, we can do that too.

Pricing

We price per head, which keeps it simple. What it works out at depends on your guest numbers, your date and where you are, so send us a message and we will put a quote together. There is a minimum spend for private bookings, and we will always tell you upfront.

One 12 inch pizza per person is plenty. Dips are an add-on if you fancy them, a garlic aioli and a fermented pineapple hot sauce.

Dietary

There is always a vegetarian option on the menu, and we can do dairy free on request. We cannot do gluten free though. We work with flour all day in one oven, so we cannot promise a safe gluten free pizza. We would rather be honest than risk it.

Booking

To hold your date we take a deposit, and it comes off your final bill. It is non-refundable if the event is cancelled, so we only ask for it once you are sure.
